A BIT ABOUT THE CHARITY BLOG

Each year, me and my wife Hazel have decided to help a Charity, by donating 25p every goal we see at the matches we attend. Over the years, people and clubs have also donated as we have visited the grounds and we have raised over £2,300 in the 3 seasons we have run the Blog.
During the 2014-15 season, we are supporting "Support Dogs" who train Dogs to transform lives of people with Autism and other disabilities. So if you would like to make a donation(no matter how small) and you see me at a match, please come up to me or Hazel, we would be very grateful. All Donators will get a mention on the blog.

SUPERSUB BIGNALL SHOCKS TEVERSAL

Notts Senior Cup
Round Two
TEVERSAL FC 2 RUDDINGTON VILLAGE FC 3
att: 40

On a rainy evening at Teversal FC saw a Notts FA Senior Cup tie played between Northern Counties side Teversal FC hosting Notts Senior League club Ruddington Village FC. The game was played in difficult conditions but the pitch held up well to the credit to the grounds people at Teversal.

Always a friendly club to visit and a good refreshments bar with a nice selection of food and drinks on offer.

The game kicked off and both sides played some good football but after 17 minutes, it was the visitors that took the lead through TRISTIAN RHODES. The homesters tried to battle back but Lewis Horsley in the Village goal and his defenders kept them at bay.

After a hour TRISTIAN RHODES scrambled home his teams second goal through a crowded penalty area. At this stage, Ruddington had the upper hand and looked dangerous going forward, infact the visitors nearly went three goals to the good when Rhodes hit the bar from 25 yards before the ball was cleared to safety.

After 75 minutes, The Tevie Boys pulled themselves back in to the tie, when JASON DAWSON hit a sweet shot from 30 yards to reduce the arrears, to set up a grandstand finish. On 81 minutes, Teversal were back in level terms when Horsley parried a shot out and JASON DAWSON was first to follow up and equalise.

The game looked like it was heading for extra time but 87 minutes, Ruddington Sub PHIL BIGNALL had other ideas when clean through and blasting the ball in to the net and sending his club in to round three of the competition.
