A BIT ABOUT THE CHARITY BLOG

Each year, me and my wife Hazel have decided to help a Charity, by donating 25p every goal we see at the matches we attend. Over the years, people and clubs have also donated as we have visited the grounds and we have raised over £2,300 in the 3 seasons we have run the Blog.
During the 2014-15 season, we are supporting "Support Dogs" who train Dogs to transform lives of people with Autism and other disabilities. So if you would like to make a donation(no matter how small) and you see me at a match, please come up to me or Hazel, we would be very grateful. All Donators will get a mention on the blog.

SELSTON BURST INTO NEXT ROUND OF THE CUP

Notts Senior League
Senior Cup
Second Round
NETHERFIELD ALBION FC 0 SELSTON FC 4

A visit to Victoria Park, the home of Netherfield Albion FC had been on my radar for a few weeks now as I needed to visit their committee for a Groundhop Meeting, as they are one of the host clubs on 25th April 2015, here is the LINK to check out the details, with Advanced Ticket sales already hitting over the 70 mark and badge sets ordered over 40 now.

As I arrived, Selston FC were already in the changing rooms and I was met by todays referee David Hague. Soon the players were ready to commence the game with Selston attacking the changing room end.

Netherfield got off to a good start and had the first chance of the game forcing the visiting keeper in to a early save. The match was quite even though Selston were doing the most of the attacking and it came as no surprise in the 24th minute, when DAMIAN JAMES opened the scoring. Selston then turned up the heat and doubled their lead after 27 minutes when SEAN GREGORY hit a 25 yard shot. Two minutes later and JAY COOPER made it 3-0 and contest over. Netherfield battled but it was the home keeper who was kept busy and he had no chance in the 43rd minute when DOMINIC AIREY completed the scoring.

The Second Half both sides made substitutes and the game didn't have the pace like the first half as the pitch became heavier, but to Netherfield's credit they didn't give up and came out of the game with respect.
