A BIT ABOUT THE CHARITY BLOG

Each year, me and my wife Hazel have decided to help a Charity, by donating 25p every goal we see at the matches we attend. Over the years, people and clubs have also donated as we have visited the grounds and we have raised over £2,300 in the 3 seasons we have run the Blog.
During the 2014-15 season, we are supporting "Support Dogs" who train Dogs to transform lives of people with Autism and other disabilities. So if you would like to make a donation(no matter how small) and you see me at a match, please come up to me or Hazel, we would be very grateful. All Donators will get a mention on the blog.

BILSTHORPE FC POWER THROUGH TO NEXT ROUND

Notts Intermediate Cup
2nd Round
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE FC 0 BILSTHORPE FC 8

Before the match, Bilsthorpe FC kindly donated £10 to my blogs charity to take the total to over £300, so a nice start to the day. The game I felt may be in doubt after heavy rain wiping out most of the local football in the East Midlands, but when I got to the Grassington Road Ground, I was shocked how good the pitch looked and what a credit to was to Notts Senior League Division One club Nottinghamshire FC to get the game on.

Bilsthorpe FC arrived with quite a good line up and after a minutes silence in respect of Remembrance Weekend, the game kicked off and it was the visitors who took control straight away and soon found themselves a goal to the good after just 3 minutes when MARK CARTER tapped in after following up after the home keeper had palmed out a long range shot.

After 12 minutes, GLEN TOLLEY let lease a shot that nestled in the bottom corner of the net to make it 2-0 to Bilsthorpe FC and it looked like a matter of how many at this stage of the game.

The visitors were camped inside the Nottinghamshire FC half and was spraying some good passing moves together and this led to goal number three on 20 minutes through JAMES MUNSON. After 30 minutes, Bilsthorpe were awarded a penalty after Mark Carter was hauled down, he got up and dusted himself, but the home keeper dived to his left side and palmed the penalty kick away.

As the rain  began to fall again in the 44th minute, YOGI DEPASS gained the ball on the left wing and lobbed the keeper from 25 yards to make it 4-0. On 55 minutes, YOGI DEPASS scored his second and his clubs fifth of the game as he fired home.

On the hour and Bilsthorpe looked rampant as MARK CARTER slide the ball past the home keeper to make it 6-0 and the away side looked like they could score each tome they went forward and they added 2 in a minute after 62 and 63 minutes through GLEN TOLLEY and AARON NORMAN to make it 8-0. Bilsthorpe manager then took off his main men to give his youngster substitutes a run out and close the cup tie off.

A BIG thankyou to Bilsthorpe FC for the kind donation to SUPPORT DOGS, this blogs charity and the 8 goals scored at the game took the running total to £303.00.
